Dr. Anıl Güven Yüksel is an assistant professor and head of the General Public Law Department at the Law Faculty of the Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, and a Schumann Fellow at the University of Münster for 2024-2025. He studied law at Istanbul University and received his LLM degree from Ankara University. He completed his doctorate in public law at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, where he has been teaching courses in human rights law and general public law at both bachelor’s and master’s levels. Previously, he had research stays at the University of Barcelona (Observatorio de Derecho Publico / IDP), Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (MPIL Heidelberg, funded by DAAD), and the University of Deusto alongside his participation in EU-funded projects as a researcher at his home university. He published several works concerning his principal research fields within political participation, constitutional theory, and human rights. He is also acting as the field editor (public law) in Yıldırım Beyazıt Law Review. Currently, he has been working on the political participation of immigrants under the supervision of Prof. Dr. David Moya Malapeira within the research team GESDI (Grupo de Estudios sobre Derechos de los Inmigrantes) at the University of Barcelona. Accordingly, this year he will continue to develop his project through a comparative constitutional perspective in Münster as a part of the Chair of German and International Public Law and Comparative Law led by Prof. Dr. Michaela Hailbronner.
