General course offer

The Faculty of Law offers a wide range of courses in German and foreign languages. You can get a first orientation from the following overviews:

Detailed and up-to-date information on all law courses can be found in the lecture notes (Vorlesungskommentar).

As the lecture notes are only available in German, there is a short user guide in English.

Special courses for international students

The Faculty of Law also offers special introductory courses for international students. We would like to especially recommend the following courses to you:

Winter semester

  •     German Law for International Students and Methodology of German Law (4 credits) - GERMAN TAUGHT!
  •     Introduction to German Public Law (6 or 8 credits)
  •     Introduction to German Private Law (6 or 8 credits)

Summer Semester

  •     German Law for International Students and Methodology of German Law (4 credits) - GERMAN  TAUGHT!
  •     Introduction to German Private Law (6 or 8 credits)

In the courses "Introduction to German Public Law" and "Introduction to German Private Law", 6 credits are awarded for passing the written exam. Two additional credits (i.e. a total of 8 credits) can be earned by taking an additional coursework (e.g. essay).

Seminars and colloquia at the Faculty of Law

If you would like to participate in a seminar or colloquium offered by the Faculty of Law, please read the information sheet, which is available in English and German.

Courses offered by other Faculties

Incomings can choose from the entire lecture program at the University of Münster. In addition to courses at the Faculty of Law, you may also attend lectures at other departments and language courses. All ECTS credits earned at the University of Münster will be recognized and will later appear on your "Transcript of Records".  Up-to-date information on the entire range of lectures is available in the central electronic course catalog.
