Admission to the master’s degree programme

The admission requirements for the master’s degree programme are stipulated in the corresponding admissions regulations.

Students may gain admission to the master’s degree programme in “German Law” if they meet the following prerequisites in accordance with the corresponding Admission Regulations:

  • - Successful completion of an undergraduate Law programme at a foreign university with a duration of study of at least seven semesters (equivalent to 210 ECTS credits)
  • - Sufficient command of the German language

If the duration of study in your first programme was only six semesters (equivalent to 180 ECTS credits), you will have to have earned an additional 30 ECTS credits in other preparatory or related degree programmes with equivalent and recognisable achievement (e.g. 30 ECTS credits from another master’s programme in Law).

Candidates are required to take an examination to demonstrate sufficient command of the German language. The Faculty of Law accepts, for example, the DSH2 examination (German language examination for university entrance).
