Gernot Sydow conducts research on German and European public law, primarily from a comparative law perspective, as well as on legal history. His comparative law research focuses on the constitutional law of Great Britain and France. In European law, he works primarily on questions of European administrative law. In the field of “Law and Religion”, he is particularly interested in questions of freedom of religion and belief and the relationship between state and religious law. His research also focuses on the third power and the law of political parties.
